I lived in Clovis for 3.4 years and went to Amarillo at least 50 times and never once saw a hill big enough to worry about. For the passes in my state, being 35-39K combined with a 6.7 is a tall order, but it will pull it. The 3000MH Allison will do just fine but you will be 35mph up most passes in the Colorado, if not a bit slower. Mileage should be decent, 8-9mpg.
