70's TravelCraft BLAZING HEAT on driver's feet
We have a 70s TravelCraft. The heat on my feet when I drive it becomes unbearable--boiling hot, seems like "exhaust" hot. My parents have owned this RV for about 18 years. I'd never driven it before last year, when I discovered the heat. I asked my dad about the problem and he agrees that it is super hot, but seems to think this is normal because it is a "hard working engine. " But this just doesn't make sense to me. Once it becomes unbearable I end up driving with alternating feet because 1 foot just can't handle it for that long.
We have a trip coming up this weekend and I am dreading the painful drive. Is there something wrong? Is this common? Is there a quick fix for this? I can't afford a $200+ bill this month.
Please Help My Feet!!
