"8 D Battery" Anyone ever use one for house batt?

Gents, Well, our Costco, 6V golf cart batteries (dated 8-11) just passed the 4 year old point and, based on a few things, I'm not sure they're holding up their end of the bargain for keeping charged...

Perhaps the issue isn't what size, or type, of battery you get, but rather your charging system and how much water you put in your batteries?
Also, if you store your rig outside, maybe some solar and a good charger would help.
Just thinking of the problem from a different angle for you.
