x 2 on what j-d posted . Aside from that I find it hard to believe a MH manufacturer would rate the MH to tow more (8000#) than the maximum Ford rates the chassis for (7,500#).
I also know that Winnebago/Itasca in their specs for their MHs list the GVWR and GCWR ratings of the manufacturers, but they don't necessarily rate their motor homes for that full rating.
In the case of my 2014 E450 Itasca they put a 5,000# hitch on it and stickers telling you not to exceed 350# tongue weight, even though the hitch itself has a 500# tongue weight rating posted on it.
In reading the owner's manual, it's a little confusing as to what the MH is actually rated for. You could come away with the idea that it's rated to tow 7,500# (with the proper hitch) but don't exceed the 350# tongue rating.
