I think what you are seeing is the rating the manufacturer has tested and rates their hitch for not the MH manufacturer. Just because the hitch is rated for this amount does not mean the MH is rated for this. A perfect example of this is the hitch on my MH is rated for 5000# but the MH manufacturer only recommends a little over 4000# rate. The hitch on my Jeep Grand Cherokee is rated for 10,000 but Jeep only recommends a max trailer of 6500#.
