Going through Nashville, TN in 2007 my 1998 Itasca roof came loose on the drivers side (no wind just rough Interstate) but I was lucky in that it just popped loose along the edge and I was able to reinsert it in the aluminum flange. There have been one or two other such reports on this forum and the RV service I stopped at said that they had repaired several in the past. Since I had gotten mine back into the groove they suggested EternaBond. I installed a strip the full length of the MH from the bottom of the aluminum flange to 3 inches over the fiberglass. It has worked so far but flying tornado debris scraped some of the EternaBond top cover off and I’ll have to repair that now.
Based on what had been said on this forum and Google it is a maintenance problem and your insurance may not cover it. The seam where the fiberglass enters the flange is supposed to be checked, cleaned and resealed periodically. I cleaned the passenger side flange, resealed it and hope it will be OK. Good luck.
