Forum Discussion

I belong to a number of forums for a variety of interests. Some do not allow "for sale" posts, others have a separate category for "Marketplace" which is sometimes broken down into sub-sections for whole vehicles, parts, etc. I bought a slightly used car (2700 miles)from 1000 miles away some years ago on the S2000 Forum. When it is a separate category, there is no need for those who do not wish to see adverts to click on the categories that offer items for sale. And the sales items do not clutter up the categories for help or discussion.
Obviously, each forum's rules are determined by those who own the forum (and its server.) The owner also has the discretion to zap offending posts, and even the ability to ban the offending user if necessary.
