Could you live without the decal? Paint some reference lines to indicate temperature if necessary? The original decal didn't have reference lines so it seems of limited value. As for the knobs, why not request some from the mfg? I've had bbq company send me a handful to replace one which had weathered. Once you get some spares, take one around and see if it fits on any stove you see with metal knobs. It appears that there are bakelite knobs produced which may hold up better in heat or not melt. Or take it to an appliance dealer, repair shop, or salvage.
