We just moved in (5 weeks) to our new home in a development called Dixie Springs in Hurricane, Utah which is just east of St George. We came here for a lot of reasons - we had been looking for a place to retire for over 3 years. One reason we came here it is a nice development with lots of people with RV garages. Our RV garage is 55 feet long and 27 feet wide in the back three quarters of it. The door is 14 x 14 and the ceiling is 16 feet tall. The door and walls are insulated. There is no wall between the RV part and the 2 car garage. We love it here - it is beautiful and the neighborhood is incredibly friendly.
I have hopefully attached a picture of the house.
ncrowley,
Very nice looking place. We know Hurricane and many parts of St. George. We've been through that area several times during our travels. I absolutely love Quail Creek Reservoir and, the newer one, Sand Hollow State Park. Sand Hollow is just like a miniature Lake Powell. Your RV garage is 27' wide at the rear, that's outstanding. Like I stated in my preliminary post, ours if 15+ wide and 53.5' long. I surely would have liked it larger but, I'll still be able to open the slides and walk around it. I'll be able to comfortably wax the big beast and do other maintenance without feeling too crunched. But, yours would be truly nice.
We will visit your area again in the future. I love many parts of Utah.
To the others, thanks ever so much for your nice comments and encouragement. It will definitely be major life change. We will be returning to So CA every once in a while for visits to the kids and MIL. So, we're scheduled to close both escrows, ON THE SAME DAY, for present home and, the one we're purchasing. I am really looking forward to the move and, settle in with a new life style.
