You will have no problem towing one of these at around 1800 lbs.
Or one of these (Ford Focus) at about 3000lbs
Or one of these (Toyota Yaris) at a little over 2000lbs.
Both which give you more room than the Smartcar. Although we like the Smartcar. The Focus I have now is bigger than the Yaris was and much nicer. Price between the two (7 years apart) was not much different.
