My parents 27 foot Midas got 8 to 9 mpg, until the fuel pump went out. They replaced it with an electronic fuel pump, and never once got below 10 after that. Most of the time is was over 11 mpg. The difficulty you have is those throttle body injection versions from that time period did not do too well, especially in colder weather. The timing curve is not optimal, which doesn't help much. You may be able to chip it, for a better timing curve and get a little more out of it.
