One thing I haven't seen that needs a place in this discussion, is fancy electronics.
All coaches have some fancy electronics, and these systems have a limited lifespan. Our Monaco, just 6 years old, doesn't have an hdmi cable running to the bedroom, or to the midship main TV, it is coax and RCA cables!
Our Alladin monitor system is unrepairable, should it ever fail. Our monitor (for the backup cameras and alladin) is a black and white CRT Tube!
People with fancy monacos, where alladin is the basis for the whole dash, they are looking at thousands of dollars for a modern replacement (VMSpec's digital dash system) should alladin ever fail
And my rig is a 2008, and not terribly fancy one.
We have a box full of video cassette home movies, buy no longer own, and can no longer buy, anything that will play them.
I just sold my '68 Camaro, equipped with an aftermarket fuel injection system. I provided a windows 2000 laptop that would run the software to monitor, control, and adjust the EFI...
Most of these fancy new rigs can be completely controlled on your iPad with a provided IOS App. Anyone want to bet how useful these things will be in a decade?
I would guess that a decade or 2 old high end motorcoach is just loaded with high end custom IRREPLACEABLE OBSOLETE ELECTRONICS.
Just something to watch for and wonder about.
