Newells and Prevosts mostly used Vitricor for their cabinets, a very expensive product. Country Coach stayed with high-quality wood cabinets. Prevosts and Newells tend to have a flashier interior--a matter of personal taste.
I believe the Dynomax chassis is every bit as strong as a Prevost or Newell chassis, and the drivetrain is essentially the same. My transmission is the same as those used in Prevosts.
Pricewise, Country Coaches were close to the Prevosts and Newells. Later Magnas were in the high $700k, and Affinitys in the high $800k. In any of these high-line coaches, a lot depended on what the original owner wanted, so the options list could be long.
Since we are doing caretaking for my elderly dad, our coach replacement program is on hold, but Country Coach is at the top of our list. In the meantime, if we wanted to go anywhere, I would not hesitate to use ours to go anywhere, and add to the about 163,000+ miles we have on her.
Country coaches in ascending order are:
Tribute
Inspire
Allure
Intrigue
Magna
Affinity
The Rhapsody was hailed as a direct competitor to Prevosts, but just a couple were built prior to the bankruptcy. The Lexa was built in 2003-2004, but essentially became the 2005 redesigned Affinity. In 2005 a number was added to the coaches--the Allure was the 400 series, the Intrigue 500 series etc. Don't know if it was intentional, but the number essentially amounted to the base price in thousands. I have yet to see one that left the factory at base price with no options!
