That's actually good news on the generator. Most people let them sit and they fail to operate properly from lack of use. Most techs will tell you that 10kw Onan Quiet Diesel is good for 10,000 +hrs before a major overhaul. I have 2800 on mine and recently had a new belt installed along with brushes and water pump. Belt looked like it had very little wear, brushes were in excellent shape and now I have a spare water pump and belt. I did it as preventative maintenance but I probably wasted my money at 2500 hrs. I would go ahead and flush the coolant and change it along with the oil and filters just to have a baseline.
