How hard is it to replace a motor on a A&E weather pro power awning and where could I find a motor.

Motor is Dometic only no aftermarket motors. You may be able to find them on Amazon or E Bay. There are 2 motor assbly's used. If not familiar with how the awning is mounted, it would be best to pay a professional. Risk of injury if you do not follow correct procedures. the New Motor will come with instructions. RV Geeks just published a youtube video that shows how to replace the fabric on an A&E powered awning. You can see in that video what is involved in removing the motor. Doesn't look too involved or difficult.

I watched the awning specialist replace our motor. It was not a plug and play operation. I don't recall all the things he mentioned he was doing, but it does involve having to drill out a rivet or two and it is important to know which ones as well as how to handle the spring/tension for the roll up part.My husband is a very good DIY guy, but we were both glad to have the expert do this fix.

I just replaced the motor on my A & E power pro awning two weeks ago. It is not that hard at all, as long as you're ok being up on a ladder and have a 2nd person to help you with this, you most certainly CAN do this yourself, and you will save a ton of $$$ doing it yourself. Dometic has a very good video on their web site showing how to do this, that's what I went by. If you lived close to me (Charlotte, NC), I'd be happy to help you get it done. :)There is a thread over in the general RVing forum that I started where I discussed this and how I ultimately got it done. Don't be intimidated by the rivets, very easy to drill old ones out, and a river gun can be had from harbor freight for $5 that you can use to rivet the new motor assembly back in. Not hard at all. I'll post you a link later to my thread on this subject. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.
