I just did this service myself it is actually pretty simple and cost me $179 for filters and oil. I actually got my best price on parts from an authorized dealer for Allison. I called a Freightliner shop they told me it would cost between $200 and $800 I figured since they could nail it down any closer than that I would do it myself.
There is a good youtube video about it. If you can change your own oil you can do this. I was a mechanic years ago so it was no big deal but I have to say anyone with the skill to change their own motor oil can do this it was the easiest transmission I ever serviced. It just takes a bunch of oil 19 quarts. I bought a brand new oil pan that holds 9 gallons and has wheels to move it under the MH and pull it out. The oil drain pan has a ball valve in the bottom to drain the oil into containers to get rid of it.
