I replaced the rear bags because two were rubbing against the wheel liners and had bad wear spots thru to the inner cords at 100,000 miles.
I replaced the front ones because the outside rubber covering showed cracks at 170,000 miles - However the inner bags was perfect when I cut into them.
Just check them yearly(Spray soapy water on them) and when they look so bad that you can't seem to trust them, then replace them.
