driving we are fine with the vehicle ac. It is when we are parked and sitting directly under the ac that we have a problem. I think the only way to dis is pull down the ceiling under the ac and see if I have to extend the wiring as you recommended. I will assume that if I have to extend it, I will have to use a junction box. Is that right, or can I just extend them?

My first TT had the mounted ac on the ceiling mid ship. It 'was' loud and you'd get blasted with cold are where it was located. Albeit you did stay cool!
My MH has ducted ac and it much more pleasant. BUT after one summer in Florida I think the mounted ac would have kept me cooler.
