For 8 years I ran around the USA with my International truck and Mobile Suites 5th wheel trailer weighing rv's by wheel position. It was an interesting business. Tag axle motorhomes were always interesting as so many owners had zero clue how they operated, why the did what they did and how to adjusat them. Many tages were rated at 10,000lb max, 20,000 to 23,000 lb drive axle and front axles 12,to 14,000lbs. Some higher, very few less, but that was what I saw as the norm. When I weighed a tag MH and the numbers were all withing those ranges everything was fine. But, when I saw a tag with 8 to 10, 11 or 12,000lbs showing on my scale, the drives were way under the rated number and the steer was buried, way over gross axle weight allowable. Most owners when I showed them the weight numbers had no clue that the tag was out of adjustment and carrying too much weight, so it was pushing down, and actually lifting the drives and transfering weight forward. One fellow after seeing the numbers showing his drives at about 14,000lbs said, well that answers the question as to why I can spin the tires taking off under hard acceleration. We kept reweighing and adjusting the tag to get his mnumbers back in line. If your front tires are being made to carry too much weight, they are overloaded, or could be, and causing your tire pressures to climb abnormally for what they should be doing. Just my experiance on the subject.
