OK, prove those trucks AND trailers are contractor owned and not owned, in any part, by Fed-X.
The real facts are they work on my coach for the reason I installed them, and apparently they work on other RV's for the purpose that they bought them. Basically I'm just saying is that NOTHING you say will change my results with Air-Tabs.

Not sure about the trailers but the large FedX box cargo trucks are.

I have no first hand knowledge of how well or poorly they work on a truck or RV, but.... I fly RC planes and two of my newer plane purchases have them on the top of the wings. Its hard to say if they improve performance or not but somebody did some research on their effect and decided to include them on some of the newer RC planes.

The Air-Tabs cost me $225, which won't even fill my tank ONCE. If I was worried about cost, I wouldn't be RVing. For the improvement in handling, they are worth many times their cost.

I think that you need to gather some information about aerodynamic drag and vortec generators. We are not talking about a WING used on high speed cars on the salt flats to provide downforce. We are talking about surface friction and breaking a boundary layer of air flow. Air tab like devices are used on airplane wings to modify the STALLING characteristics, which can happen as low as 30 MPH or lower, on some airplanes. I have used much smaller(1" x 1") stick-on vortec generators on my own planes and they do indeed work at slow air speeds and can be designed to offer different lift requirements at high speeds. Don't confuse something that reduces surface friction with something that is designed to provide downforce to improve the stability of a high speed vehicle.

I've been using AirTabs since about 2006 and they do work to increase stability.

As others have said, the effect on fuel mileage is small enough as to be undiscernible to me. However, they are worth the additional stability on the road.

I have to wonder why you feel that you have to accuse Air-Tab users of lying, when you have absolutely ZERO knowledge and experience with Air-Tabs or the concept that they represent. That says a lot about you.

I understand the concern about AirTabs and the claims. It is possible but unproved that there may or may not be modest fuel mileage improvement.

It is also true that there are several RV.net participants who have two decades or more of RV experience in virtually all road conditions and use AirTabs. Each of these drivers (including me) is qualified in our public courts to offer a firsthand opinion that the AirTabs do increase the stability of the RV in a major crosswind. This is termed evidence -- it does not prove the truth of the claim, but it may be considered by the trier of fact.

Even with the cost of painting to match the three colors on my coach, the AirTabs were a modest cost mod that IMHO do improve stability. One night when I was in a 40 knot crosswind, I would have gladly paid triple the cost for the benefit of the AirTabs.
