While the are certainly reasons NOT to add air tabs (complex coach paint jobs that would be hard to match with Fusion paint as an already posted reason), whether they work or don't work, they will not be used on new coaches because they COST MONEY.
Other examples-- they don't fit high end shocks like Koni FSD's, they don't fit track bars, etc. Not because they don't work, but because spending that same amount on upgrading interior fabrics (as an example) would sell more coaches/ or not adding them would reduce the price or give the manufacturer more profit. Pure market economics.
