What oil does my Allison 1000 tranny like? thanks. book is out side, so is wind and rain.

If you are doing it yourself you need to drain the transmission into a bucket that has quart markings on the side. Refill with exactly that amount. It will usually be about 11 quarts.
iam aware of changing trans oils over the years.I based my post on the information that U posted
you clearly said 11 quarts will drain.I said it only hold 13 quarts
I would not waste the cost of 11 quarts of 295 $$$ oil just because of about a 2-3 quart dilution of the old oil
On a side note in my old mechanic days we use to drill a hole in the converter to drain it(if no drain plug) and just mig it back over after
