- mike_brezExplorerWhat type of fluid are you running?
- lanerdExplorer IIThis is obviously not a mh that you have owned since new So, if you don't know when the last time it was serviced, I would go ahead and drain, install two new filters and replace the fluid with Transynd.
- lj2654ExplorerI agree with Ron above. if you have maintenance records as to when it was done last, go from that. If no idea when or if change the filters and fluid out for the transyd. I did mine myself and it wasn't a huge job.
- Blaster_ManExplorerIf Transynd have it tested...if good no need to change.

There ya go,, our coach is 17 years old with 50K milage. the tranny has never been serviced. the fluid is good, as are the filtrers.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it until it is.
Simply check the level correctly, and see no brown looking fluid, and it doesn't smell bad you should be good to go.
over the road truckers using this tranny usually have no problems with it. - OLYLENExplorerGo ahead and follow the above advice and throw the dice too. Its only $10000.
If you don't know have a full service done. Now you have a starting point for regular service, which I might extend a bit because of the low mileage put on RV's as a whole. Again full service with Transynd.
LEN - bluwtr49Explorer III have the tranny serviced every 4 years running transynd. Fluid samples every year.
- GHOST1750ExplorerThanks, the motor home is in the shop to have an earlier repair checked and I asked them to let me know if the filters need to be changed, we'll see.
Not sure why people buy RV's except they are fun to travel with.:h - Jim_NormanExplorerI'd check with Allison. The new 3000's have a 5-year fluid change requirement. Older units have a shorter interval. Cummins requires a 12m/15k service schedule regardless of which comes first so even if you only go 5000 miles a year you still need to d the service to keep up any extended warranty. If you have a coach that is well out of any warranty, I'd get a baseline by doing ALL the engine, trans and chassis service then you at least know everything is good now.

The shop people will have no way of knowing if the filters need to be changed.
