I know this company is out of business . At the time when they were building them were they considered a good coach? I have found a few that look really nice and they are more competitively priced than the Monaco's I have been looking at. I have found a few 2000 to 2002 that I can afford but before I go any further I would like to know how they compare. I have also found a couple of Country coach alure's book on the truck is much lower that what these guys are asking , they are all close to 20 -23 thousand over high retail NADA book whats up with that? Thanks

The CC Alure is a very nice coach and so are most of the Monacos. Alpine is a very good coach as are the other two you're looking at... as is Newmar :). You'd be safe with any of them depending on the condition, floorplan for you and price.

I think you'll find many Country Coaches on the net priced well below retail price. I check several sites regularly for Coutry Coaches--we would not buy anything else--and there is a vast diffeence in prices for similar coaches. I've seen CC Allures of the same size and year vary by as much as $50k. One dealer told me that owners tend to price their coaches much higher than the market will bear. From what I've seen on the internet, I'm not sure I would disagree with that. Country Coaches are selling like hot cakes, except for the silly Veranda models. The factory is still in business doing service work for owners, and working on setting up production again. They sell coaches on consignment, and while they price coaches slightly higher, they do a coach checkout I doubt many dealers do. We test drove an Allure last year at the factory, and they said they would replace the radiator (Aluminum radiator didn't work out well) before the sale. We're heading back to the factory next month to do some minor work on our vacation.

Wild One, Alpine are very good coaches and they were made in Yakima, Washington State and were billed as the best steering Class A RV. One of the Campgrounds that I stay at near Yakima had a show and tell on Alpines Coaches when they were still in business. Western RV (Alpine) factory Reps and Sales people would invite all Alpine owners to come out and share experiences with an open house about there Alpine Coaches to prospective buyers. They would do this once a year at this Campground, while I was there, and Alpine would sell about 6 to 12 Coaches that weekend. The following week Western RV would bring out there Alpenlite 5th Wheel Coaches and do the same thing. IMHO, When I'm ready to buy a DP Alpine, Travel Supreme, Country Coach and Winnebago would be on my short list. Good Luck, Rooster

There was a fella on these forums that use to deliver all makes of coaches and he said the Alpine drove the best out of all of them. I think some models or years had a steering box issue but there is a fix for it.Steering bracket

Our '99 has 2 sliding wood doors, one closing off the bath area from the living area, the other closes off the bath from the bedroom. Once these are closed DW can sleep in back without my TV/radio bothering her, they do a very good job of sound reduction and privacy.

If the OP is still here I again suggest that he go to the Alpine coach specific forum on irv2 and "talk" to actual owners with actual experience with these coaches. There are also floor plans for most years at the Alpine Tech' Library in the Brochures drop down menu.

These coaches are orphans but the support from other owners and even a few folks who built them is outstanding and just about every mechanical part is readily available.

we have the accordion door on our 2001 35 ft alpenlite. the snap that keeps it tight against the wall has never been unsnapped. happy we have that style so we don't have to open and close an un necessary door for our needs. cheap as you called it can be less repairs in the future.

Beg to differ. We have friends with an early Alpine that has the accordion door which closes off the bedroom.

Beg all you want I was refering to the one I seen and they were new not older ones.

Airplanes also have hydraulic brakes.

If I was buying today, I'd be looking at a used Foretravel. Step above Country Coach, especially after National bought out CC.

As i recall, they had hydraulic brakes VS air brakes. CC has one of the best/ruggedest/strongest chassis in the industry.

One positive with Alpines is that some (all?) their DPs use hydraulic brakes instead of air which is arguably a better technology and according to test drives, Alpines with hydraulic brakes were suppose to have the best braking of any DP.

You're talking about the small accordion door that sections the bathroom from the bed area, not the door (wood) between the living front area, and the back bedroom/bath area. We have used the accordion divider for one week when my mother traveled with us 7 years ago. Most people probably never use it. It is very, very rarely used and there would be no way to put in anything but an accordion divider there to divide that section. Now, you might not agree with the layout, but for most people this isn't a problem.

Luckily there are all kinds of coaches out there, so there is one for everyone. And no coach is perfect. Our friends had a CC, had several problems with it.

Yep, last model year was '09. None had accordion doors.
