Always Something--Hot water clog UPDATE

I had a hot water flow block many months ago. It was the white plastic diaphram from a failed one-way valve. I just took out the plastic diaphram clogging the hot water tank outlet and left it at that ... it was a real hassle to do it. I don't buy into any reason that I need a one-way valve there in the first place - it's just another thing to break when out in the middle of nowhere and maybe cut short or ruin an RV trip. I don't winterize our motorhome - if that's what the one-way valve is for. My stick house doesn't have one in it's hot water system, so now the motorhome doesn't either.
