American Tradition 1999 model

I looked at a 1999 American Tradition, with one slide. It has been garage kelp since new, Inside looks new. One owner 40,000 mi. 300 Cummins. Looks like just needs good wash job outside. Owners wife is in bad health, and he is going to sell. It is 40 ft. and wants 40,000 for coach. He told me that he always left the propane furnace turned on thru the winter to keep any dampness out. He replaced the furnace last summer. Would this be a good price on a 99, in good shape?? thanks!!!

  • We have 2001 American Coach Tradition and love it! I think anything around $35K should be pretty good considering your description. Hope you get a good deal!
  • We had a 2000 Tradition with the 300hp ISC engine. Great motorhome. Gave us excellent service and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Put 90,000 miles on it. It does have a rubber roof, but never gave us any problems at all. Ours was equipped with the 4 door Norcold refrigerator and that also gave us no problems. If you get it, I wish you the best with it. it think you'll enjoy it. It is definitely a quality coach.

Beware that tires alone can cost you $2500-3000 for six. If it has a norcold fridge, make sure it has the update done to it. It will stop working at will, and norcold has a recall on it for catching on fire.

I think you will find the fridge is a Dometic. Mine is 17 years old and still chilling like a champ.

Great engine, chassis and factory support.

The best place to get the correct answer is HERE
  • Yep. Not a bad price at all. Not to offer buzz kill, but do check the dates on the tires. The tires represent almost 10% of the asking price.
  • That's probably in the right ballpark. I would try and offer him $35k first. Not that $40k is an unfair price, but $35 would be sweet. You'll love the cummins.
