Run the generator for 15 minutes with the breaker on the generator turned on and the a/c turned off. After the 15 minutes have passed and everything else 110v turned off, turn on the a/c unit incrementally, assuming you have a thermostat like ours shown below. Note the hi/low fan speed, and the fan ON/Auto. I think the fan "ON" will run the fan without the a/c pumping out cold air. Try that first. You want to slowly increase the power requirement.
