You are either exaggerating your expenses or are paying far too much for just about everything. Your seven to eight year-old Itasca could have been purchased for about 30 percent less; you preventive maintenance costs are about 50 percent higher than I pay and I don't do any of it myself; and I purchased six Michelin tires in 2014 for less than 3,800 balanced and installed. Just sayin.................
Definitely no exaggeration, but perhaps I did overpay. When I had problems or needed work, I took the simple route and went to my trusted retailer. Almost all service/repairs were conducted by La Mesa RV in San Diego, or General RV in Tampa, except specialty work done by Freightliner and Allison repair shops. I don't think that'd be uncommon for most people, which means most people are going to pay the same.
Again, we can all split hairs and say I overpaid oil changes by $75 per, or overpaid tires by $1000, but the real hit came in depreciation. How can you or anyone else know what your coach is worth until you try to sell it? Remember, it's only worth what someone will pay, and the only sure thing is the auction price, which none of us know until you actually try to sell it. If you're curious, call around to your local dealers and tell them you need to unload your coach. They'll be more than happy to quote you an immediate price, which is the auction figure. That number was pretty eye opening to me, and dropped about $1000 per month since last November.
