To add to stories of expenses and experience I have owned the RV for 4 years and it is a 1996 Monaco Dynasty. It spent the first three years at mechanic shops as it should never been certified to begin with. I have learned alot in the past 4 years and have spent alot of money for items that some say maintenance such as tires all around; recoiled coolers; alot of problems with the power steering pump; all new shocks; line change to coolant which luckily I noticed the temp gauge rising while driving or I would have fried the engine; pressurised the RV to find a leak which resulted in delamanationand repairing the inside wallpaper. Three months ago I found out that the undercarriage was completely rusted out and had to be rebuilt. Good agonized with what was the right decision. Should I use the money to put a good down paymenton a place in Florida but I realized that I just love the RV lifestyle and am retiring this October and will start traveling 5 months in the winter which who knows may lead to full-time. I get an incredible feeling driving the RV. In addition to the undercarriage repair it was found that I replaced all air bags, muffler system, oil pan gasket, battery isolator and alternator, fixed plumbing issues that were not right, removed all corrosion on the storage doors and had the RV painted all around the RV compartments. So the total price canadian dollars for this project was $37K. Yes alot of money and I am lucky that I have the money but I figured the devil I know is better than the devil I dont know ie another used RV. I will never get the mail negative back with the exception that some things are worth more than money and that being the memories made through life experiences. Thanks for reading. Wanted to share.
