RVs are like Big Boats. No matter how you look at it, you are at the mercy of the Gods of Depreciation and ownership costs. That is unless you are about the 3rd owner of a RV or boat. The two guys ahead of you are still licking there "wounds".
My sister made the choice of giving her ex the boat and she kept all her retirement. 20 years after the divorce, I wonder who came out the best? I do know he doesn't have the boat and she is comfortably retired.
Yes, I was stupid for buying my signature bus new, but there were some compelling circumstances. Plus, we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into financially, and were willing to except the consequences.
My RV mantra saying is, "I know who slept in the bed last night, what they did or didn't do, when the sheets were changed last, there wasn't a porn movie filmed here and there wasn't a meth lab in the basement."
