Anti corrosion washer for battery post

Has anyone had any experience with these type of washer. They are a "chemically treated" felt washer placed under the battery terminal to prevent corrosion. The fella at West Marine said he uses them on every battery he has and they work great. I have recently replaced 4 house batteries and trying to keep corrosion at bay. Would like to hear of any other opinions.. Thanks
  • When I worked on buses this is what we would use.. Clean the posts and clamps well and then coat them both with a coating of never seize.. Install terminals and then coat it again well.. You will never have a problem with corroded terminals again.. This is one of the first things I do when I buy a vehicle and I have owned them for ten years without a starting problem.. Works very well..http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80078-Anti-Seize-Lubricant-Bottle/dp/B000AAJTXY
  • 2 pack for $3...why not. (they are a felt disk soaked in oil)
I have always just put a drop of oil on each post. No corrosion.
  • The best $.99 you'll ever spend. I also set my house batteries in a battery box from Wal-mart. Virtually ZERO corrosion.
  • they do an OK job. I prefer spraying the terminal with an anti-corrosion spray at the beginning of the season.
