Forget "the guy says" and get it to a Chevy mechanic for compression test and overall road worthiness shakedown. That includes engine, transmission, suspension, body, brakes, and all suspension steering and tires. If nothing is needed, then proceed to the house components and pay big attention to the roof which could have leaks and mold. If it's in 100% condition it's worth maybe $7000. If it needs anything just subtract from that figure.
