THIS POD FOR $7.85 hoping I could work both into the area. If not, then I will use only one of the pair. Each unit is independently screwed into the mounting plate. I could use the plate or not. I plan to initially install them independently, but may resort to using the backing plate if the structure behind isn't cooperative.
One thing certain, I need to do something for it is dangerous to drive with things plugged into the 12V sockets by the shift lever. We just got back from a 4 week trip and it was real bad trying to down & up shift while the Garmin and cell phones were being maintained. The NTSB should have challenged Ford over the placement of them.
