Some days are not meant for working flat out for hours on end. Some days it is necessary to spend some time trying to find components for one of the next steps in the build.
Such was today. I did get some work done though.
Talked with the wife for a little while about upcoming parts of the project to finalize a couple of things.
Also called a local lumber yard for some special lumber. This is not a run of the mill, Lowes or Home Depot.
I want to use a little bit of PurpleHeart wood inside, so I called and asked if they had any.
Most of theirs was already surfaced, and was of smaller dimensions, but they did have a piece of 1" thick rough cut, 13" wide and 15' long. Yay, and ouch at the same time.
I asked him if it was going to cost me an arm, a leg, and my first born? Close he said.
Turns out, that piece of wood is $235.00. Not sure I need that much, although, I could probably find a few places to use it.
I'll have to make a trip over there to see what else they have, and go from there.
