Material pricing is just strange. I'm putting up a wainscoting on my deck made from some left over tongue and groove Ipe I have from when the deck surface was done years ago. Too hard to shoot nails or staples through so I need stainless steel trim screws. Big box store wants $10 for 40. I will need about 1000 to finish the job. Went to Amazon, $70 for 4500. Same screw, saame manufacturer. Makes no sense. Saved a few $$ but now I'll have about 3500 screws left.
Need any?? #8 X 2" 316 Stainless Trim screws #10 Torx drive
I agree on the screw pricing. I found the same thing a while back with Kreg screws, 1.25" long. Little over $10 for 250 at Lowes, and $81 on Amazon for 5000.
Both in a Kreg box. Everything the same.
Unfortunately, I would not know where to use a 2" long screw, although, I do love the Torx drive. They are so nice to use, don't slip, and do not require much pressure to keep the bit engaged in the head.
If only they were all like that!
