Had some irises we decided to get rid of so I mowed them every time I cut the grass. Figured that would do it. They came right back the next year. Gotta respect a plant with that kind of perseverance. They are now allowed to grow unmolested.

Years ago, I mowed off a couple of Maple tree plantings, accidental at first, and then on purpose. Couldn't kill 'em. Both of those things grew up into HUGE trees.
Years later, I got to cut one of them down.
