A PACER?????? Now, THAT was an UGLY car! Lol...
I resemble that remark!;) I had one...1976...I was the only one on the block with one....took a LOT of flak the first time I drove it to work! Actually was a very comfortable car and built like a tank. My daughter loved it and drove it daily to a local college. Finally broke the timing chain at well over 100k miles.
I also had not 1, not 2, but 3 Pintos! Kids loved them and no one ever died in one. :B All three lasted a long time.
Lastly, that pic of the modded PT 'Chevy' is insulting! :R I had 2 '57 Chevys, a convertible and a Nomad wagon.
Glad you had good service from your Pacer. Evidently, I wasn't the only one that thought they were ugly. Lol.
As far as Pinto's go, as long as you didn't get hit in the rear end, they would run a long time.
What's that they say? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? When I was young, I had variety of 57 Chevy's. A 2 door hard top, a 2 door sedan, a convertible, a 4 door station wagon. Probably had a couple of more, but that's all I can think of now.
I also had at least 4 or 5 Corvairs. Contrary to popular opinion, I enjoyed driving them as well. Even with some, ah, shall we say, less than cautious driving, I never wrecked one.
As with all cars, there were a few things that were less than ideal, but, I like them, just the same, with the 57 Chevy being my favorite.
