So, the 2 x 3's didn't collapse in the center. By the way, the 2 screws in the bottom were just screwed in from the side, and I did not use the Kreg jig to drill pocket holes.
What's the point of all this?
Well, according to a question the other night about weight being supported by 24 screws.......
And that set my mind a runnin'..........
So, a preliminary conclusion would amount to - if I wanted to push this a little, 330 lbs divided by 2 = 165 lbs of weight being held per screw on the outside.
That would mean, 165 * 24 = 3960 lbs for those 24 screws. I would think that putting 600 lbs on that scaffold would be safe, since we have the equivalent of 3360 lbs of excess holding ability.
But, alas, I digress. Do NOT do this at home, based on what you read here. Do your own research, make your own decisions, based on your research, not mine. Ok? Ok.
That isn't the only test I plan on doing, so hopefully within a few days, I can get the other one done as well.
