That would fall under the category of "couple of minor things to touch up before gluing the TPO down".

I suppose it would be easier and take less time if I just added a strip of ChemLink M1 along the edges and smoothed them out a little.

Depends on how long it looks like it will take, and how I do it. Guess I'll have to have a little thought on the process.
