These are the latches they use in my Newmar... sturdy and pretty small. They are $1.46 from Newmar Part 124329
Thanks for the info, pic, and part num.
I would not have thought Newmar would have sold anything with such a low price tag. Wrong again. Lol.
Some things from them are very reasonable... for example, the caps for the roof vent pipes are $1.53, and that includes shipping ! I broke one and ordered 3 at that price. So I have a couple spares. I imagine the price on the latch includes shipping too as that is generally how they list their item's prices. - Then, I cranked the power up to full, which increases the voltage, amperage, and watts from - 8.33 volts, 0.46 amps, and 3.8 watts TO --- 13.15 volts, 1.19 amps, and 15.6 watts.
Hopefully, this will show in the pictures, but this is quite a bit brighter when at full voltage.
More on this tomorrow. These string lights can be ganged together - they are made with connectors on both ends, so it's just a matter of plugging them in together, with some interesting results.
Not sure the pictures do the actual light justice, but there is a pretty big difference. - ENTER - the new kid on the block! Yay!!! Lol.
This is a string light of led's. In this pic, I dimmed them to the point where it is pulling 0.46 amps, and 3.8 watts. That means we are using about the same amount of energy, but these are providing more light than the other 2 combined.
The light seems to spread nicely, and these string lights have an adhesive strip on the back side.
- Next, I turned both of these on at the same time, which seems to work pretty well.
With both on, we are pulling 6.0 watts, or 0.46 amps. As you can see, this is lit up pretty well.
- This is the square led that I just received last week. I would say, comparatively, it produces a little more light than the round one I have, BUT, if you look at the upper part of the picture, it is a little more directional than the round one.
The upper portions of the walls, are not lit up quite as well, but then again, I do not have a cover on either of these lights. The fixture is a standard double 1141 bulb holder.
This one pulls 3.3 watts, or 0.25 amps. If you compare these 2 pictures, you can see the difference.
- As you know, I have been checking out some led lights for the interior, and where to place them.
Tonight, we'll have a little fun with led's.
Here is one of the round led's I have that replaces a standard 1141 bulb. This bulb has led's in a completely circular fashion, as well as a few on the one end.
Here you can see how the light is distributed. It's using 3 watts, or 0.23 amps.

I like those latches. They are also in our Newmar and never had one to open in motion.sundancer268 wrote:
They are not a Newmar exclusive, I have seen them in the big box stores in the past.LouLawrence wrote:
