You have seen the post of people that say don't do it. I'm one of those that did it and could not be happier. Also assisted with several others.
It depends on what type of slide you have when comes how to do under slide. Mine is a flush slide when extended. I cut a piece of oak to allow carpet on slide to ride over. The rear slide is the bed and a closet. Removed mattress and panels to get at flooring under it and closet. I made oak pieces that retain flooring under closet and bed.
