What works for me is a 5X8 utility trailer w/ ramp and various motorcycles or scooters. Right now a Harley Sportster. At other times I'll take a bike carrier and bicycle. Motorcycle for expected longer rides, bicycle when things are within a shorter distance. I'm very leery about hanging lot of weight off the back of my class C- I would consider only one of the very smallest/lightest scooter.
Anyway I like having the flexibility of either bicycle or MC (or possibly both). On some trips the bicycle is entirely sufficient.
The 5X8 trailer is of little consequence when driving. I can back it using the backup camera (not beautifully). Or simply offload the bike and roll the trailer around by hand.
