We used a Honda 250 Helix for a couple of years. It was light enough that I could carry it on the back of our 23ft motorhome. Really liked the convenience and the ability to carry it on the motorhome. It worked great for getting around national parks (Yellowstone and Tetons) and for getting groceries. However, felt it was under powered for carrying two up for extended travels.
Now we have a Yamaha 400cc Majesty scooter. Much better and easier to control on the freeway. We can cruise at 70mph if we want and the hills don't slow us down so we can take more extended trips. The downside is that it is too heavy to carry on the back of our current 26ft motorhome. It weights 460lbs and the carrier weights 100 lbs.
We purchased a harbor freight folding trailer with 12in wheels and it works great for transporting the scooter. A little less convenient because of the trailer but we feel safer on the bigger scooter.
