- Sez_Hoo_ExplorerI did it for 5 years with a bike rack from Wal-Mart. It bottomed out a couple times but never an issue
- wheelygoodeExplorer IIWe also use a dolly, and put our two full sized hybrid bikes on a hitch mounted rack on the toad. No problems.
- Kayteg1Explorer IIStraped racks will wear out the paint, hitch mounted racks will bounce a lot.
I am firm believer in roof racks. Don't know what toad you have, but there is not much that can happen bad on roof rack. The only issue is lifting the bike. - Jim_NormanExplorerI installed a rear spare tire carrier on my double hitch and added a bike rack to that. Worked fine, but you can't buy what I have, I built it. Reason was at the time the toad did not have a hitch for the bike rack.
- elhajj33ExplorerHere's the rack we're using: http://www.northshoreracks.com/photo%206bike21.htm
I called Demco they said there's no WAY that would work between the coach and the towed.
I've spent over 3 days researching racks, couplers, straps and so on. This is driving me INSANE.

I'd love to hear experiences from anyone who's done this. I have a friend who did this. He said the rack bottomed out a couple times, but he never had a real problem.
I've done it. But, the bike rack that I used is one that attaches to the truck with straps and NOT a hitch mount. Something like this .
Doug - ncrowleyExplorer III put a receiver in the front of the coach and put the rack there. It works very well.

- crassterExplorer IINot used but seen done half a dozen times. It looks like it works.
- jorbill2orExplorer III used to do that ( on the car on the dolly ) I would agree , rack hitch assy bottomed at a gas station entrance once due to the tilt of the car on the dolly , but since it was hitch based rack the hitch was what took the hit. Otherwise it did just fine I towed over 9000 miles that way.
