Anyone using Echo, Dot ot Alexa in RV's?

We're enjoying Alexa in our home and our kids are using multiple units as intercoms between rooms in their homes. We can call their homes by just saying "Alexa call XXX" and we converse on Echo not our telephones. With Black Friday prices I'm wondering if we don't need one in the MH. Love the technology.

  • We've tried it but, as has already been posted, one needs a continuous internet connection. Logging in to campground internet is not always easy or, at least, we have not found it to be so. We may try again when we stay in one place for several days.
  • The first Alexa i bought was a Dot for my RV. Along with a usb battery I had already, it was nice to sit it on the picnic table for music. Also handy to ask it about the weather and news, without having to break out the phone.

I also have it setup to control various outdoor lights, two vent fans and the water pump.
  • I believe you need an internet connection for these to work. If that is usually available then go for it.
