Aqua Hot thermostat ??

The high temp safety thermostat on the Aqua Hot just died so no electric heat function. This is the white dot 230F item and Aqua Hot wants $33.00 for a new one which is probably high but not excessive.

The thing that is annoying is the $11.00 shipping charge. That alone makes me want to start looking elsewhere....so, any suggestions where else one may find these??

  • FYI, I received the new stat and changed it yesterday. The unit now works perfect. I let it heat up...took a long time but it shut off properly without the high temp limit activating which is a good thing.
  • Good luck. Please let us know if that was your only problem. I had had my high limit short out on mine but I have the Hydro-Hot. Mine was a manual reset. Just screwed on to the side of unit. Every thing else OK. I jumped it out before replacing it and checked all other operations, and all it was was a shorted high limit. Be safe out there.

I'd still deal with Roger. He is one of US. If it was a good limit and was doing it's job when tripped, something else is wrong. That's when you need the expertise.

The failing of the high limit 120V stat does not indicate anything else is wrong.Electrical parts fail from time useage

Yeh, that's my thought also so I'm not too concerned about other causes unless it repeats. Besides it self re-setting so even if it did "trip" there would not be any damage....it's just a thermal switch.

You could probably pick it up at the factory and save shipping charges but then I think you have to pay sales tax. It's a no-win situation. Bite the bullet and order it from Roger. You'll eventually need his expertise.
(when have you been able to ship something for under $5 from USPS? I checked there "so called" ,if you can fit it it will ship, medium price box and it was around $17 and fat chance get a tracking # that shows up after you get it. I took it down to UPS and shipped it in the USPS box for $1.50 less. There in two days.

He said rogar was more money for the stat and more money for shipping

Roger has some of the best prices around for AquaHot parts. Also runs a great website and forum.

Thanks but he is even more pricey than Aqua Hot. The same $33.00 part from Aqua Hot is $36.00 and shipping is even worse at $15.00. This whole shipping charge thing is irritating for a very small part that would ship on USPS for $5.00 or less and they charge 3X the cost. Sorry for the rant.

I ordered it yesterday from Aqua Hot and it will arrive tomorrow so no complaints there.

Lots of companies seem to do that...give you a great price on the item but make up for it by charging double or triple the actual shipping costs.
