I think another question might be "are new motor homes really worth $100,000+ more than their 2006/7/8 counterparts when new?" For example, my 2006 Itasca Ellipse MSRP was $235K in '06. A new model, comparably equipped, is in the $320K range. Same chassis manufacturer, transmission, comparable diesel, many of the same appliances, etc. Yes, upgraded TVs and electronics and minor upgrades to furnishings. But $100K plus? Inflation has been flat, labor costs have been pretty level, cars prices are actually less in many models, so why? Because people are willing to pay, of course. But I don't believe today's models are any better, and may have less quality control than older models.
