The emission problems actually began after 2002. EGR valves and weird ecm software. 2007 gave birth to the DPF and 2010 gave us the SCR and the DPF. The 2010 and later engines will give better fuel mileage and more power. It is a myth that RV'rs are having problems with pollution systems. We do not drive enough miles to encounter the problems that are plaguing truckers. We also do not idle our vehicles for 10 hours a day! The sensors in the new engines will fail if you idle too much. The poster who has drunk the Winnie Kook Aid should understand that even though Winnie makes a good( not exceptional) unit it is no better than any equivalent make. Winnebago has had problems with: basement ac( bad idea), roofs that almost fly off and rusty undercarriages. They do not make any frames. Just another FL chassis with some options. We drive an 08 Monaco Dynasty and the quality is the same as any other equivalent Monaco. I would not hesitate to buy an RV of any modern era. They all have problems! However there are certain mfrs. I would stay away from: Monaco's made by Navistar and any RV with a Navistar engine. I would also avoid any Cat engine that has a DPF. Other than Beaver there are not many MH's with those engines. I am also not a fan of Thor products but that is my personal preference.
