Most states use the 183 day rule to establish residency. If you are not physically present in the state more than 183 days, you probably won't have an issue. The operative word there is "probably." We have gone through a number of residency audits with NYS and they are ugly and time consuming. I don't think Arizona is quite as aggressive, but be aware of where you vote, what state you license your vehicles in, and what state your own driver's license is from.
