I want to use my RV ladder to attach my bicycle to. Ladder specs say it holds up to 250 lbs. good idea or bad?
In my experience bad. Not because of the weight issue. It's how they attach to the ladder. The bike hangs down on the ladder.
I bought 4 different RV 'ladder' bike racks and no matter how you cut it, because ladder bike racks hang the bike parallel with the ladder, the front wheel flops around, hits the side of the MH, yada yada yada. And forget about covering a bike when its hanging on the ladder.
I finally found the "bumper mount" is the best way to go. And it doubles as a spare tire mount if you so desire. I use the space where the tire would go to carry my lawn chairs.
Carries 2 bikes. Designed for the RV square bumper.
I no longer take the bike with and that rack now carries countless of other items!
You can find them at any Camping Store and they are inexpensive.
